THE look on the students faces said it all, and the build up of excitement and joy proved to be an overwhelming success when stationary supplier ‘Yoobi’ delivered some well appreciated goodies to Karuah Public School on Thursday June 16.

The motto of Yoobi is ‘One for you, One for me’, which simply put, means that when one of their products is purchased from one of their retailers, like major Yoobi retailer Officeworks, Yoobi respond by donating one of the same to a needy school. Schools that could do with a boost are negotiated with and determined by Yoobi partner ‘The Smith Family’.

Speaking with News Of The Area, Smith Familiy representative Suzanne Leonard was on hand at last weeks handover and said, “It’s very special to be involved in such a program with our local schools.”

“It’s with immense pride I stand here today and see the many smiles on so many childrens faces with the delivery of these items from Yoobi,” she said.

Yoobi spokesperson Kelly Neve worked the young crowd into a frenzy describing how many items each student was to receive, and that it meant quite a lot to Yoobi to see the items going to such an appreciative group of Primary School students.

The first recipients of a big ‘Yoobi box of goodies’ were class 4-5, who ever so patiently waited for the opportunity to open the box and see what each of them were to receive.

“Items like pencils, sharpeners, pen cases, rulers, textures, glues and much more proved to be an instant hit. One young boy stated that, “It was the best day at school ever.”

The impact the items donated by Yoobi was of widespread happiness.

And just when the students thought it couldn’t get any better, Officeworks Rutherford team member Deb Skene also presented six chalk boards to the school.

A happy day for all involved, and a reminder that old school generosity is still alive and well, thanks to Yoobi and Officeworks.
