Work n Play now open at Tea Gardens Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest by NOTA - August 13, 2015August 12, 2015 Seeing an opportunity to ‘bring his work home with him’, Tea Gardens resident Trevor Officer recently moved his clothing business WorkNPlay Clothing from Newcastle to Tea Gardens. Trevor Officer The move saves Trevor over two hours travelling a day enabling him to spend more time at home and at work. Trevor married long time fiancé Kylie French and with her work in Tea Gardens it made the decision easier to bring the business here. “We carry a full range of work and sportswear and are licensed distributors for NRL, V8 Supercars, Hyundai-A-League and All Blacks Rugby products,” Trevor said. “The business has been operating for over two years in Newcastle and we saw an opportunity to bring it all together at home.” Currently Trevor employs three local people casually and uses Black Possum for their labelling needs keeping money in the area. All purchases at the retail outlet at 3/38 Wanya Rd Tea Gardens opposite the Council Works Depot will see five percent of sales going to the Hawks Rugby League club while the online section donates five percent to the Leukaemia Foundation. Currently putting together a large order for a major retailer based in New Zealand, Trevor sees the long term viability of the business enhanced through its new location. “With the online section we can service anywhere from Tea Gardens and modern couriers give us access to a large range of markets.” All the best on bringing a new business to the area and getting involved in the support of local sporting groups. As Trevor says, “WorkNPlay is here to stay.”
