WOODSTOCK in the Valley event will be bigger and better than ever this year thanks to Rotary Nambucca receiving grant funding in the Nambucca Valley Council ‘Moving Forward’ Community Grants Program, funded by the Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund (BCRRF).

Diane Potter, Project Manager with Nambucca Rotary told News Of The Area, “Woodstock in the Valley is a tribute to 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair and the music and culture that shaped our future.

“The festival is a full-day of family fun including: artists of varying types circulating through the crowd; busker competition; kiddies corner with rides and activities; market stalls; food stalls; an exhibition of photos from the fires; a series of nine bands on the big stage from early afternoon through to mid-night.

“Everyone will be encouraged to dress in the theme of the Woodstock era and prizes will be awarded for best dressed adult and child.

“This will add to the fun of the day and provide another opportunity for the community to work together in preparing and even making costumes.

“The event is the outcome of the inaugural Woodstock in the Valley held on 10 August 2019.

“A group of local musicians and technicians will set up and run staging, sound and lighting.

“Whilst the focus will be on promoting the local music industry, we have secured some exciting national acts – released soon.

Diane said the Moving Forward funding will ensure the event is of a high standard for locals to enjoy.

“The funding we have received under the Bushfire Recovery Grant means we can attract a couple of high-profile artists as well as keep the entry fee affordable, at $10/adult with children free.

“This really is a fun filled family day that captures the spirit of love and peace.

“With the ongoing events of the past two years including the bushfires, floods and the pandemic it is important for the community to be able to get away from all of those worries in a safe and friendly environment.

“Join the Peace Train and chill out for the day.”
