THE Port Stephens Suicide Prevention Network aims to reduce the impact of Suicide in Port Stephens by engaging the community in discussions about suicide and educating the community in Suicide Awareness and Intervention skills.
The Network meets on the last Thursday of each month 7pm .
The Port Stephens Suicide Prevention Network invite locals to the opening of the whale watching path at Noamunga
Reserve Boat Harbour, 10 March at 10am.
A morning tea will be served, so bookings are essential.
Walking shoes are a must and the walking tracks include a dog friendly, leash free area.
The Cairn at the headland of Iluka Reserve is a special place to remember your loved ones with a stone of remembrance.
You are also invited to enjoy a paddle or a swim after the opening.

At the recent Australia Day Awards Ceremony, Peter Murray, Chairman of Boat Harbour Parks and Reserves, accepted an award for the group’s contribution to the restoration and regeneration of the park and for supporting the Port Stephens Suicide Prevention Network.
“As always the volunteers keep the community moving forward, bringing diverse people together to achieve a great outcome,” Elizabeth Schiemer, Secretary of the Network told Bay News Of The Area.
“Dave Sams also received two awards for his community service, making a significant difference to our community, and is the inspiration and guidance for so much of the achievements of the Port Stephens Suicide Prevention Network,” Ms Schiemer said.
“Dave deserves recognition and every accolade he is given,” she said.
