Wet weather continues to play havoc with Coffs Harbour cricket season

WET weather has once again played havoc to local cricket with the latest round of the region’s matches washed out.

For the third week in a row the Coffs Harbour District Cricket Association’s scheduled matches had to be cancelled due to the state of the playing fields being unplayable thanks to the recent wet weather.

The opening days of the third round matches of the North Coast Cricket Council’s Premier League season which were scheduled for last weekend were also washed out.

The Premier League’s Round 3 matches are scheduled for this weekend, with Northern Districts Rebels hosting Valleys Cricket in a top of the ladder meeting in Woolgoolga, while Sawtell host Harwood at Richardson Park.

With the last three rounds having been washed out, the fifth round of the Coffs Harbour District Cricket Association’s first grade season is scheduled to be played this weekend.

Last season’s premiers Diggers Cricket Club Inc. host the Northern Districts Rebels at Fitzroy Oval, while Sawtell take on Valleys Cricket at the Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park.

This weekend’s scheduled matches are the last for the year before the season goes on its Christmas break, with the competition to resume with Round 6 matches on Saturday, 8 January.

The North Coast Cricket Council’s Premier League also resumes on 8 January with Round 4 matches.
