SES Training This week, members from NSW SES Port Stephens undertook more refresher training on winching, recovering connecting trailers and accessing spare tyres. The unit consistently works hard to ensure that all members are well versed in completing a number of tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Scamwatch Gumtree users are warned to be wary of scammers sending fake WhatsApp or SMS messages. Scammers are messaging Gumtree sellers with a request to click on a link to ‘receive funds’ for the listed item and organise ‘Gumtree shipment’. These links lead to a fake Australia Post website which is designed to steal your personal and financial information. Gumtree does NOT offer delivery and is not affiliated with any delivery service. If you receive one of these messages don’t click on the link or enter your payment details. 16 Days of Activism On Tuesday 30 November, an Operation was conducted utilising Port Stephens-Hunter District resources including Crime Prevention Unit, Proactive Crime Team, Domestic Violence Arrest Team and General Duties Police Officers. The operation targeted outstanding warrants, unserved Court Attendance Notices and Apprehended Violence Orders within the District, to support the 16 Days of Activism against Domestic Violence. During the Operation, two warrants were executed and three Court Attendance Notices were served, four Provisional/Urgent Apprehended Violence Orders, two inter-state Summons and three Supreme Court Subpoena served. Thirteen AVO Compliance Checks, three DVSTMP checks and 108 RBT’s were also conducted.
