Walking into the Salamander Bay Recycle Centre’s latest venture was likened to being invited into someone’s home.

Vintage Seconds has now opened at Shop 8 Cinema Mall, Nelson Bay.

Eclectic items perfectly placed, create a smorgasbord for your eyes and imagination.

There is a wealth of history, unique items and enthusiastic staff to assist in decision making and to have a chat about the possible history of the items.

The Recycle Centre depends on community donations and is run for community benefit, regularly donating to community projects, not necessarily financial assistance, but donations of much-needed equipment.

The shop is a valuable resource if you are on a budget and need household items, crockery, cutlery or furniture.

It is also a drop off point for Share the Dignity whereby donations of handbags and ladies toiletries can be dropped off in preparation for collection and distribution to ladies in need prior to Christmas.

General Manager Gerard McClafferty told News Of The Area, “Having a pop up shop has been a long time coming, the Recycle Centre committee and staff are always looking for ways to diversify to maximise our commitment to the community.”

“Promoting the Recycle Centre through presentation of high quality items in an antique-style store is very exciting and will be a great resource to the community and tourists alike.”
