Versatility Day for the Tea Gardens Women’s Bowlers Sport by NOTA - September 9, 2015September 16, 2015 Tea Gardens Women’s Bowls Annual Versatility Day Sheril Johnson, Sandra Leismemann, Shane Reynolds from Pelican Pest Control, Loretta Baker and Elke Jones TUESDAY 1 September was our Annual Versatility Day, sponsored by Pelican Pest Control. Teams of four players competed in one game of singles, two games of pairs, one game of triples and one game of fours. Both green were in use which presented a challenge moving from grass to synthetic as well as coping with the wind. However the main aim was to have a fun-day; and it was. After the singles, pairs and triples were played, we adjourned for lunch. The competition resumed after lunch with the fours games. Shane Reynolds, from Pelican Pest Control, arrived to present the prizes as we enjoyed afternoon tea with some delicious slices made by some of our members. A great day was had by all. The outright winners were the team of; Sheril Johnson, Elke Jones, Sandra Leisemann and Loretta Baker. In second place were; Carolyn Bywater, Pam Gilchrist, Lily Smith and Nola Jackson. The third place getters were Karen McPhie, Bev Rhodes, Wendy Jones and Robin Webster. Vicki Rankin and Lorraine Harvey competed in the Champion of Champions Pairs at Warilla today. This morning they defeated Penrith City 23 – 18. Progressing to the next round in the afternoon they defeated Huskisson 30-5. They will now compete on Wednesday 2nd in the morning games. Good Bowling in the next round. Tea Gardens Bowlers are cheering you all the way. It is great to see Vicki back, and in form after her bout of ill health. Go girl!!! Thursday 3 September, there were 17 bowlers on the green today. There was one game of fours (with a swinger), one game of triples and one game of pairs played. The winners for the day, drawn from the cards, were Lynne Green and Laurel Laver.
