Urunga Bowls Results Coffs Coast Sport by News Of The Area - Modern Media - September 28, 2021 Bev Cloake and Josh Shearim. WITH bowls allowed again, Urunga is catching up on many Club Championship matches. This week has seen the mixed pairs played over Friday to Sunday with some shock results, some very tight games with minor players giving the major players some great games. In the Sunday final Bev Cloake and Josh Shearim played Rhonda Riley and Glen Wedlock. No one wished to change places with these four as the weather was not exactly pleasant, consisting of wind and rain. Most spectators chose to watch from inside the Club. The game was extremely close and went down to the wire with Bev and Josh winning by just one point after a very long afternoon and finished under the lights. Congratulations to both teams on excellent games throughout the weekend. Urunga will hold an open pairs competition on Saturday 2 October due to having to cancel their annual spring carnival due to Covid. Many will be disappointed as teams usually travelled from far away just to play and catch up, but as we all know we are living in a very different world at present. Hopefully with twilight returning Wednesday 6 October the weather will start to warm up and we look forward to returning to see casual bowlers return. Enjoy your bowls and stay safe. By Pamela WATSON
