Put simply the Hustle is an urban treasure hunt in similar style as the popular TV show ‘Amazing Race’. Teams of 2 will explore Nelson Bay and surrounds on foot answering questions, solving puzzles and completing challenges all with the goal of finishing with the most points but more importantly having the most fun. Teams will have to answer questions about known and secret landmarks, find hidden clues and complete physical and brainpower activities. It won’t be the fastest team that finishes with the most points but rather the smartest. The Hustle starts with a list of cryptic questions and a map. Teams then decode the clues and plot their route to finish before the time cut off. The event is perfectly designed for families looking for a great day out to runners wanting to get some training somewhere new to outdoor enthusiasts wondering how much adventure there is around Nelson Bay. Richard Old, event director said, “The Hustle is our way of getting people outside and active while at the same time sneaking in some adventure and education.” Mr Old said, “The event will bring new people to Nelson Bay and the peninsula and help them see it differently all the while having fun.” Why the Hustle? Port Stephens Council is always looking for new ways to engage with the community, promote the region and increase the visitor economy. The Hustle is a unique way to do just that. It will tangible connections to surrounding landmarks and tourism sites, encourage the local community to experience the area differently, encourage visitors to visit the region in winter, engage businesses and promote the region as an area for physical activity. The Hustle is going to fun and fast with a hint of adventure as teams learn about what experiences are on offer in and around Nelson Bay; discover the history, find landmarks, complete challenges and interact with the space and businesses. Entries are open with special rates for students and kids. Details can be found on the Fully Rad Hustle Facebook page, by visiting www.urbanhustle.org or by emailing info@fullyradadventures.com.au.
