University Medal awarded to Dr Nicholas Chang

DR NICHOLAS Chang from UNSW’s Rural Clinical Campus in Coffs Harbour was awarded the 2021 University Medal.

The University Medal is one of the most distinguished awards to be bestowed on an undergraduate.

It recognises Dr Chang’s outstanding academic performance across the 2021 UNSW Medicine and Health cohort.

Dr Chang is the sixth Coffs Harbour student to receive this award since the Rural Clinical Campus opened in 2004.

Dr Chang said, “My two years in Coffs were the best of my entire time at university.

“Our teachers took such a personal interest in the student, I made some of my closest friends and everyone was so welcoming.”

Dr Chang is currently working at Royal Prince Alfred in Sydney on the neurology ward.

He hopes to return to Coffs Harbour one day.
