THE Bulahdelah Christmas Twilight Farmers Market, held at the grounds of the Myall River Holiday Park, welcomed great weather and crowds eager to check out the range of locally produced products. With a wide variety of stalls offering everything from food, local produce and arts and crafts to name but a few, there was something to appeal to all tastes and interests. Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au Organiser Dale Bradshaw explained how the event came about. “The Business Chamber in Bulahdelah decided to help small businesses along coming up to Christmas and we thought a Farmers Market would be a great idea. “Holding it as a twilight event meant it wouldn’t be too hot. “We put the word out on social media, in the local newspaper and existing markets and got a really good response with about 40 stalls, which is up from last year. “The crowds are up too so it looks like this market is building quite a reputation,” said Mr Bradshaw. “People have actually stopped me in the streets and said how good it is for the town and we are pretty excited about doing another one in the future.” Mr Bradshaw explained the importance of these types of markets for the local community. “They’re a great communication for the town, people gather, they chat and have a cup of coffee, they bump into friends they haven’t seen in ages, do a bit of shopping and support local businesses. “It’s great to get out and about.” The Business Chamber and Committee are planning on bigger and better events in the coming year.
