Twelve pairs competed for the highly anticipated Nambucca Valley Bridge Club championships

Nambucca Valley Bridge Club 2022 Club champions Mike Siford and Colin Tolley celebrated their eighth victory of the coveted title.

NAMBUCCA Valley Bridge Club held its club championships over three weekends in September.

Club President Scott Parker welcomed club members to the highly anticipated final round, which saw twelve pairs competing for the championship on September 17, with Phil directing a six-table share-relay.

There was plenty of friendly rivalry among members in the lead-up with players eagerly looking forward to the competition.

In an exciting competition, Mike Siford and Colin Tolley finished as the 2022 Club champions, the eighth occasion they’d taken the title, and there were warm congratulations all round.

Runners up were Maureen Cowan and Richard Levy.

Winners in the novice category (less than 50 masterpoints) were Louise and Gary Walton, with Lynne and John Slade the runners up – which goes to show there’s something to be said for husband and wife partnerships.

Nambucca Valley Bridge Club meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at various times and new players are warmly welcome.

Bridge lessons continue at the club on Tuesdays under the tutelage of Mike Siford.
