Two people were taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition following a collision between a car and a truck south of Bulahdelah.
Police report the truck was travelling northbound on the Pacific Highway at about 1.00am on 31 December when it collided with the rear of a car driving in the same lane.

The collision resulted in both vehicles veering off the highway and into the bush.
The driver and passenger of the car were transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police report the truck was travelling at a speed of approximately 80 km/h at the time of the crash.
Police inquiries into the cause of the collision are continuing.
