RESIDENTS and visitors be warned!
Road closures are coming to Hawks Nest this upcoming Saturday 24 September.
It’s all to ensure the safety of more than 600 athletes expected to compete in the new Hawks Nest Triathlon Festival.

“We’re really looking forward to this inaugural event,” Media spokesman Sebastian Gallery told the News Of The Area.
The Hawks Nest Triathlon will see athletes battle it out in various distance events, from the standard race, a 1.5 kilometre swim, 40 kilometre bike ride followed by a 10 kilometre run.
The sprint distance is a 750 metre swim, 20 kilometre bike and a 5 kilometre run.
“It’s expected the event will bring in well over $500,000 to the local economy,” says MidCoast Council’s Tourism Coordinator Sharon Bultitude.
The Hawks Nest Triathlon is also part of the NSW Tri Series with athletes competing to accrue points for the series championship.
The event hub will be located in Providence Park.
The road closure of Booner Street, Tuloa Avenue, Munga Bush Road, Yamba Street and Illaroo Street can be expected between 6.00am and 2.00pm and may cause minor traffic delays.
