GROUP 2 Junior Rugby League’s best players have begun their representative seasons this month as members of the North Coast Bulldogs under 18s and 16s sides. The Bulldogs teams have played their first three games in this year’s Laurie Daley Cup (under 18s) and Andrew Johns Cup (under 16s), which are NSW’s regional representative competitions. The Bulldogs under 18s remain unbeaten after the first three rounds, winning their first two matches of the season and last weekend’s 24-24 draw against the Newcastle-Maitland Knights in Cessnock. The Bulldogs kicked off their season with a 32-28 win against the Northern Tigers in Wauchope, and then a 36-30 victory against the Northern Rivers Titans in Murwillumbah. The Bulldogs under 16s have won one of their opening three games of the season, an 18-14 win against the Northern Rivers Titans. The Bulldogs teams for this season were selected during last month’s trial matches at Rex Hardaker Oval. The Bulldogs sides take on the Illawarra South Coast Dragons as part of Round 4 this weekend in Shellharbour. The final game of the regular season sees the Bulldogs taking on the Central Coast Roosters in Round 5 in Wauchope. By Aiden BURGESS
