Now dubbed the Port Stephens Parkinson’s Support Group (PSPSG) the community-based organisation will look to reach more of the population affected by the disease.

Support group leader, Bob Crampton said that while 2020 had been challenging through the COVID-19 pandemic the members were still able to meet regularly and recently rallied together for some festive celebrations.

“Our group got together at Pearson Park just before Christmas for an end of year picnic,” said Mr Crampton.

“We had 16 members who braved the poor weather conditions and all had a good time!”

The PSPSG will hold their first meeting for 2021 on the 21st of January at the Tomaree Library and Community Centre and is set for a 1pm start.

Those wishing to contact the PSPSG prior to the meeting can call the group’s secretary, Laurelle, on 0412 889 071 or can email at portstephensparkinsonssg1@gmail.com.

For more information on Parkinson’s disease members of the public are urged to call Parkinson’s NSW on 1800 644 189 or head to http://www.parkinsonsnsw.org.au.
