The Tomaree Parkinson’s Support Group is having a full day of activities at Little Beach Nelson Bay on Thursday December 15.

Meeting at Little Beach, in front of the new exercise equipment, the day begins at 6am with fishing rods and bait available on the day.

Activities throughout the day include swimming, fishing, kayaking and walking as well as a day of socialising in a relaxed environment.

A shelter will be provided on the day and you are invited to supply your own chair, drinks and munchies.

At 9am there will be a half hour session for exercise and stretch band activities, utilising the new exercise equipment council has recently fitted on the foreshore.

A walk along the disability-friendly path to the Inner Light Teahouse or the option to drive for morning tea will follow with a BYO lunch at midday on the foreshore.

“The day was planned to get people motivated, to get out and about and to enjoy activities together,” Lee Anlezark,

President of Tomaree Parkinson’s Support Group told Bay News Of The Area.

The highlight of the day is at 5pm, where there will be a boxing session of “Punching Parkinson’s” with seniors fitness instructor Vicki Tillott.

Professional boxers will also be attending on the day and boxing gloves will be supplied.

“We are looking forward to a good turnout and a day to relax and socialise,” Mr Anlezark said.

The day will culminate in afternoon tea or an early dinner at The Boathouse Café, Little Beach.
