At the event members and guests heard an update from Mayor Ryan Palmer on some key projects being delivered across all 3 Port Stephens wards. This included the release of some funds which had been allocated to projects that were to be funded by the SRV. “Our breakfast sponsor Kathy Rimmer from Ying Yang Consultancy organised a very motivational guest speaker Brian Moran to talk about business ethics and culture. “Our members enjoyed the wonderful opportunity to network which is our main priority; and we announced another 12 new members to bring us to a membership of 215 – and growing.” The event heralded a strong future for the Chamber which was celebrating the success of the Blue Water Country Music Festival and gearing up with Destination Port Stephens to deliver Love Seafood in August. “We look forward to continuing to be a strong voice for business across Port Stephens,” she said. The Chamber is taking on the vibrancy of the townships across the peninsula and is seeking locals to take on the challenge of revitalisation. Meetings with locals at Anna Bay has already received positive input. By Marian SAMPSON Mayor Ryan Palmer. Bob Westbury and Selva Saverimuttu.
