Marion McDonald, Pamela May, Kevin Hall, Ronnie de Plater and Harold Smith This great initiative is the brainchild of Great Lakes Council’s Ageing & Disability Services who are hoping to make the day an annual event to celebrate community and inclusivity. “A Together!Day is a day for the local community and visitors to get together and celebrate what makes us strong. It is a day where you can enjoy free activities and entertainment for all ages, free giveaways, free morning tea and a free barbeque lunch,” said Ageing & Disability Services Coordinator, Ms Liz Green. From 10am until 2pm there will be a jumping castle, face painting, a scavenger hunt, arts and craft activities, giveaways, and a fashion parade involving our seniors and sponsored by WLane. It’s all totally free, and you can drop in for a short time, or stay a while! “We really want everyone to come and enjoy a free day of entertainment and food – you don’t have to be part of our services, you just need to come along to have a good time,” said Ms Green. However, if you are wondering if Ageing & Disability Services can help you or someone you know, you can access some great information on Together!Day, while the rest of the family enjoys themselves! There will be guest speakers on hand to help you learn more about the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Aged Care Services and other supports available to you including those that Ageing & Disability Services provide. You will have the opportunity to win a prize or to meet someone new and have a great day out together with your community. So bring yourself, your family, a friend or neighbour down to see exactly what a Together!Day is and make it a day to remember!
