Police were called to Belmore Road, Riverwood, near Coleridge Street, just after 10am (Wednesday 3 September, 2014) following reports of a dog attack. On arrival police found a boy suffering facial injuries. Witnesses told police the toddler was bitten by a Rottweiler dog that was tied-up outside a shop. The boy has been taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition. Officers from St George Local Area Command are currently searching for the dog and its owner. Police were called to Belmore Road, Riverwood, near Coleridge Street, just after 10am (Wednesday 3 September, 2014) following reports of a dog attack. On arrival police found a boy suffering facial injuries. Witnesses told police the toddler was bitten by a Rottweiler dog that was tied-up outside a shop. The dog and its owner had left the scene prior to police arrival. The boy was taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and is said to be in a stable condition. Officers have identified the owner of the dog and a full investigation is underway. The animal has been impounded.
