THOUGHTS and Prayers will perform live on air at 2NVR Radio on Friday 19 November and the radio station encourages the public to come along and soak up the atmosphere.

Thoughts and Prayers singer/guitarist Debbie Spillane is familiar with live radio, just not as a performer.

“After a 33 year career in broadcasting I’m about to do something totally different live on the radio, play guitar and sing.

“I’ve done live commentary from the Olympics, rugby league grand finals and I even played Scrabble live on air once back in my Triple J days, but this will be the first time ever that I’ve been a musician live on air – gulp.

“I’ll be a tad nervous, but I’ve got two wonderful musicians with me, Brett Barber and I have a natural vocal blend, which we’ve built the Thoughts and Prayers sound around and we’re being joined by Bellingen guitarist Pete Hardinge on lead.

“He was in the La De Da’s (of ‘Gonna See My Baby Tonight’ fame), so the extra buzz is that I get to play live on the radio with someone I used to listen to on the radio!” exclaimed Debbie.

2NVR radio presenter Ceri Wrobel gave more details about the free live event.

“While the crew at 2NVR bask in the glory of being a Finalist in the CBAA National Award for ‘Outstanding Small Station’, the next Studio 3 Live at 2NVR 105.9fm Nambucca Valley Radio will be held on Friday, 19 November, 6-8pm.

“It’s always the third Friday of each month and the free, live event can be heard on 105.9fm or streamed live via www.2nvr.org.au.

“However, the best option is to be there as part of the live studio audience, soak up the music of ‘Thoughts and Prayers’ in a family friendly atmosphere and experience live radio.

“Covid rules are in place so visitors will need to sign in and show their double vaccination status.

“Pack some drinks and nibbles and head to 834, Rodeo Drive, Tewinga, 2448,” said Ceri.
