The Nambucca Flood Recovery centre is open to help the community recover from the recent floods

With many locals facing loss and massive clean-up and repairs, the recovery centre is there to help all Nambucca Valley residents move forward.

THE Nambucca Valley Recovery Centre is available to all residents in the Valley affected by the March 2021 floods.

This centre is located at the Senior Citizens Centre at 37/39 Princess Street, Macksville.

It gives locals the opportunity to see a representative from Services NSW, Red Cross, community organisations and welfare bodies to discuss what the next step is for them.

These bodies, with assistance from local, state and Federal government, will provide those affected by the disaster with access to information pertaining to Insurance and Legal Support, Mental Health and Well Being Services, Accommodation Advice, Replacing important lost documents, Clean Up Services, Livestock and Crop Advice, Financial Services and Business Support.

Mayor Rhonda Hoban states on the Nambucca Valley Council website, “I encourage everyone who requires support to attend the Recovery Centre so they can have access to assistance.”

The centre is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9:30am-3:30pm.

If you are unable to attend the centre on these days you can contact the Recovery Centre Manager Mrs Alison Laverty on 0418377430 or email Alison.Laverty@nambucca.nsw.gov.au on Mondays and Thursdays when the centre is not open.

Alternatively, you can contact the Disaster Customer Care Services at Services NSW on 13 77 88 or via services.nsw.gov.au.

An invitation to ‘The SES Forum about the March flood event,’ is extended to all Macksville residents and businesses.

This forum is to allow residents to discuss with the SES and local communities, ways they can all work together in the future to improve preparedness and recovery of future flood disasters.

This forum will be held at the Macksville Seniors Centre, 39 Princess Street Macksville on Thursday May 27 from 7:30pm-9:30pm.
