AS 2020 drew to a close the ‘what a year it’s been’ feeling was pretty much unanimous, so who’d have thought 2021 could possibly be worse!

But so it turned out and now, with lockdowns hopefully behind us ‘forever’ and a renewed sense of freedom and hope for the future, what better place to celebrate than Stroud’s upcoming annual Christmas Twilight Market.

Our wonderful, supportive business and community members certainly know how to celebrate.

On the evening of Friday 3 December between 5-8pm, the retail hub of Cowper Street, Stroud, will be abuzz with the ‘shop local’ spirit as stores open late and entice us with amazing offers, specials and fabulous treats.

Our local artisans and growers will be there with their colourful street stalls to sell their hand-crafted pieces and locally grown products.

The Twilight Market is led by long-time, high profile community supporter Denise Haynes, owner of real estate agency R & R Property, along with Stroud’s creative and inspiring business community.

After such a challenging year, Denise is looking forward to welcoming everyone to the event and inviting visitors to drop byR & R Property’s Marquee and Cowper Street office location for free face painting, fairy floss and balloons for the children plus maybe a cheeky glass of bubbles or two for the adults.

There will also be an outdoor photo booth with fun props to provide a Christmas keepsake of the event.

R&R Property are also supplying live music by Sebastian Jones-Mazariegos to entertain the Christmas crowd as they enjoy the festivities, along with a surprise visit from the Grinch!

Despite the hurdles of the last year, ever-buoyant Denise remains her enthusiastic self, remarking, “What a year! Yet amid so much uncertainty, one thing that never wavered was our community spirit.

“Everyone came together and we all pulled through, as small country town communities always do.”

Denise hosts Christmas on Cowper as a way to assist our small business community, encouraging attendees to start or complete their Christmas shopping at the event.

With so much to see and do, there’ll be something for everyone.

So, come one, come all, join in the fun, say hi to the Grinch and tick off your Christmas gift list at Stroud’s Annual Twilight Christmas Market!
