The toys and goods are from the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) of NSW Foundation in partnership with Good360.

The RAS Foundation is a registered charity that encourages educational opportunities and helps build strong, sustainable and resilient rural and regional communities through targeted grants and scholarships.

The partnership with Good360 has been going since 2018 and distributes toys and other items to show societies across regional NSW.

This year the toys were funded by the Sydney Royal Easter Show and Thank a Farmer Day.

In awarding these gifts to regional Show Societies, RAS Foundation Manager Celia Logan said, “Many communities in Northern NSW are struggling amid incredibly tough conditions.

“In the lead up to Christmas, we hope these goods go some of the way to lifting the spirit of people and communities throughout northern NSW.

“The partnership with Good 360 has already benefited many local Show Societies across NSW and it’s very exciting to be able to distribute further goods to those that need it most,” said Ms Logan.

Bellingen Show Society President Gillian Anderson, who helped present the goods to May Smith, from the Bellingen Neighbourhood Centre, is delighted.

“I am very pleased that the Bellinger River Agricultural Show Society was able to provide this important community service of toy and goods distribution particularly as many in our shire are facing very tough times.”

Ms Smith agreed the items would be a real boost for people in the Bellingen Shire at this time of the year.

“The benefits will be most appreciated and far reaching,” she said.

The toys will be distributed to needy families in time for Christmas.
