DEAR community members of the Nambucca Valley,

Thank you all so much for the support you have shown our organisation, and myself, in the lead up to and launch of the Nambucca Valley News Of The Area.

Thank you for the friendly welcome we received all throughout the Valley, I certainly felt the warmth and strength of the local community as I travelled the region setting up the paper.

From the lovable larrikins at the Bowra Hotel to the lovely ladies at Marion’s Red Cross Tea House in Nambucca Heads, it was uplifting to see the passion that remains for community news.

We have been blown away by the community reaction to the first edition and are looking forward to bringing you many future editions.

I believe that the community needs to feel a real sense of ownership over its local newspaper, and you, as community members, have a very real role to play each week.

Letters to the Editor: Send me your thoughts about the stories we cover, or issues in the community. I would love to hear and publish local perspectives to complement the work of our local reporters. Email media@newsofthearea.com.au.

Sports Results: Calling all Nambucca Valley sporting and recreation clubs!

Send News Of The Area your sports club’s results each week by Monday evening for publication
on a Friday. Bowls, golf, tennis, kayaking, cycling, cross country, athletics, fishing etc – you name it, we can publish it in our dedicated weekly Sports Results section.

Email your results, relevant photographs and captions to media@newsofthearea.com.au.

Stories: If you have a story to tell, get in touch with one of our local team. Printed on Page 2 is a list of all our local reporters, who are passionate about their community and ready to go!
