Thursday 16th November: Finals for the Novice Consistency Competition plus Social Bowls. Triples was the format for play for social bowls Bette Saillard, Bev Rhodes and Deyonne Page had a drawn game 9 all on the 13th end but they scored 14 shots over the next 5 ends beating Lyn Nightingale, Carol Hayden and Lynne Green 23 v 9. Dianne Kiss, Verlie Gray and Pat Baker led all the way in their match against Ingrid Luck, Robyn Webster and Loretta Baker finally claiming victory by 12 shots, final score 25 v 13. Winners on the day determined by shots plus ends were Dianne Kiss, Verlie Gray and Pat Baker. The final of the Novice Consistency was a very close contest between Pam Gilchrist and Lynda Richards. The spectators were not disappointed with the quality of the bowling, even though we are Novices. Wind gusts proved to be a challenge for both competitors. Victory finally went to Lynda, on the 29th end, 151 v Pam 139. Thanks Karen Green for Umpiring and Francis Betar for Marking. Following play lunch was enjoyed by members thanks to the hard work of Dale Winter. Congratulations to our club members Vicki Rankin and Lorraine Harvey who joined forces with Leisa Morgan from Raymond Terrace to win the Jacaranda Carnival which was held at Raymond Terrace on the 13th and 14th November.
