Jackets and beanies dress code for the day. Format for play 3 games of Fours, a game of Triples and a game of Pairs. Bette Saillard and Olive McKeown had a good win against Kerry Faber and Wendy Brand 21 v 9.

A close contest in the Triples game Dawn May, Carol Hayden and Karen Green just claiming victory by 1 shot over Dianne Kiss, Karen McPhie and Sandra Leisemann 13 v 12. Judy McGavock, Wendy Jones, Bev Rhodes and Dale Winter 20 defeated Bev Dunn, Pam Gilchrist, Ingrid Luck and Loretta Baker 12. Francis Betar, Carolyn Bywater, Lynda Richards and Deyonne Page 13 v Pauline Perry, Sheril Johnson, Bev Stephens and Maynie Roberts 9.

A good victory for Christine Fossey, Robyn Webster, Jill McBride and Lynne Green scoring 27, winning by 18 shots against Jean Glover, Dorothy Thompson, Lily Smith and Elizabeth Kelly 9. Winners on the day with a win plus ends were Christine Fossey, Robyn Webster, Jill McBride and Lynne Green. Birthday greetings to Sheril Johnson.

Bi monthly meeting and Domestic Rules Meeting held following play.

Thursday 2nd November: Another great day of bowling. Format for play, Pairs,3 bowls each, 21 ends.

Ingrid Luck and Lynne Green scored 3 shots on the first end but unfortunately only managed to gain 5 more shots over the next 20 ends. They lost to Dianne Kiss and Lorraine Harvey 39 v 8.

A tighter game was played on the next rink Kerry Faber and Maynie Roberts 20 v Carol Hayden and Elizabeth Kelly 18. Bev Rhodes and Deyonne Page lead all the way in their match versus Dorothy Thompson and Sandra Leisemann but the tides almost turned on the 20th end when Dorothy and Sandra scored 5 shots, just 1 shot short of equalising. Last end resulted in Bev and Deyonne scoring 1 shot and winning 22 v 20. Francis Betar and Karen McPhie 22 defeated Lyn Nightingale and Robyn Webster 11.

A big welcome to Lyn, a new member for our club. Hopefully having a loss hasn’t deterred Lyn from returning.

Finally, a close match between Bette Saillard and Loretta Baker against Verlie Gray and Jill McBride. On the 12th end 11 all, final score a win to Bette and Loretta 19 v Verlie and Jill 15.

Winners on the day with a win plus ends were Dianne Kiss and Lorraine Harvey.

Coming Events: Novice Consistency Competition Round 1 commences 9th November.

Wishing good bowling to Kayelene Pearson and Robyn Beaumont who have been selected to play in the Newcastle District Representative Side to contest the Rosebowl at Ettalong on the 10th November.

Sunday mixed bowls continues, open to all, new bowlers welcomed. Names to be submitted by 0930 play commences 1000. Bowls and BBQ lunch for the cost of $12.
