On Tuesday 6th February our Grade 2 Pennant Teams bowled “at home” against Soldiers Point (Blue). The result here was a win and a loss for our side gaining 1 point overall. The Soldiers Point team gained 4 points. The story was the same for our Grade 4 ladies bowling at Stockton also adding just 1 point to their overall score and giving Stockton(Blue) 4 points. A few ladies presented for social bowls but numbers just enough for a “roll up”. Thursday 8th February, great results from the Pennant games for our teams. The Grade 4 v Soldiers Point (Blue) at home gained 5 points by winning in both games. Elizabeth Kelly’s side went from having a lead of eight in the early stages of the game, to being down by eight shots, then 20 all on the 18th end. Finally winning by 5 shots 20 v 25. Either it was good bowling or luck was on our side. With two more games to be played our Grade 4 side has taken the lead in their Section. Our Grade 2 teams both had victories against the Lemon Tree Passage bowlers also adding 5 points to their overall tally. They are placed 3rd in their section, still with a chance of making the Post Sectional Final. We are still hoping to bring home a Pennant Flag this season. No social bowls played. Birthday greetings to Bette Saillard. Thanks to all who have helped out selling raffle tickets, preparing morning teas, Umpiring and acting as the Controlling Body. You have all been amazing your hard work does not go unnoticed. Quarterly meeting to be held on the 20 February following bowls. By Linda RICHARDS
