Robyn Beaumont, Loretta Baker and Maynie Roberts bowled at Hexham and lost to a team from Lambton Park, 29 v 8. Lynda Richards, Karen McPhie and Lynne Green went down 27 v 15 to a Soldiers Point side, bowled at Edgeworth. The winners of the District triples were Kate Matthews, Genevieve Delves and Natasha Scott from Raymond Terrace. Great to see our members participating in District events. Tuesday 26th February: Social bowls, played 3 games of Fours and a game of Triples with Sheril Johnson playing “swinger lead”. Play was on the grass which did prove a challenge for some of our bowlers. A very evenly matched game for Ingrid Luck, Lynne Nightingale, Pam Gilchrist & Judy McGavock v Jan Coomer, Judi Polak, Jill McBride and Elizabeth Kelly resulting in a 20 all draw. A narrow victory for Sheril, Dorothy Thompson and Dawn May in the Triples game just winning by 1 shot against Sheril, Beverly Thrift and Christine Fossey, the score 14 v 13. A good win for Francis Betar, Bev Rhodes, Bev Stephens and Loretta Baker 19 v Jean Glover, Lynda Richards, Karen McPhie and Dale Winter 10. Robyn Beaumont, Jeanette Emmett, Karen Green and Lyn Green proved to be too strong a team against Dawn Jones, Robyn Webster, Pat Baker and Maynie Roberts winning 27 v 7. The winners on the day winning with the highest margin were Robyn, Jeanette, Karen and Lynne. The winner of the voucher to the Myall Bistro and Café was Judi Polak. Birthday greetings to Pat Baker. Thursday 28th February: A good roll up of bowlers. Prior to play Club President Robyn Webster presented Karen Green and Pat Baker their badge/certificate for being members of WBNSW for 10 years. She also welcomed a new bowler Joan Hannigan. Format for play was a game of Fours and 3 games of Triples, 12 ends. Sue Morris, Ingrid Luck, Lynne Nightingale and Judy McGavock defeated Jan Coomer, Judi Polak, Jill McBride and Dot Dallas 19 v 10. Bev Rhodes, Bev Stephens and Loretta Baker had a lead of 4 shots at the 9th end Lynda Richards, Karen McPhie and Dale Winter made a late come back holding a 1 shot lead on the 2nd last end. Loretta’s ladies picked up 2 shots on the final end winning 10 v 9. Bev Dunn, Jeanette Emmett and Lily Smith had a 5 shot lead on the 7th end Joan Hannigan, Liv Everingham and Jean Glover picked up a handy 4 shots on the 8th end but ended up losing the match 10 v 7. A good win for Robyn Webster, Maynie Roberts & Pat Baker 16 v Karen Elizabeth Kelly and Lynne Green 9. Coming events: Monday 4th March: Pre Pennant practice with teams from Karuah.
