Tuesday 23rd April: The final day of play for our Pennant sides. Grade 4 yellow and Grade 4 Blue bowled at home. The Grade 2 side bowled at Soldiers Point. Our Grade 4 Yellow team bowled against Adamstown. Both teams had a win and gained another 5 points, next step Post Sectional Finals which commence on Sunday 28th April. Here’s hoping they bring back a flag. Our Grade 4 Blue side were defeated by Nelson Bay Red, putting them in third position in their section. A wonderful achievement by this side considering most of them are new to Pennants. Unfortunately our Grade 2 side, who were in first place in their section prior to play were defeated by Soldiers Point Blue resulting in them coming second in their section. Next year ladies, you will do it. Many thanks to Kathie Rimmer for umpiring the majority of the Pennant games and Jo Younghusband for being the Controlling Body also thanks to all the members of our Club that have helped with the “at home games”, especially Sheril Johnson. No social bowls were played, members deciding to watch the bowling instead.

Thursday 25th April: No bowls due to Anzac Day. A number of our members participated in the March that concluded in Anzac Park. Following the Anzac Day Service, Club President Robyn Webster and Secretary Karen McPhie placed a wreath on the memorial and presented a book donation for the library at Tea Gardens Public School.

Coming events: Post Pennant Lunch Thursday 2nd May, all members welcome. On Thursday 9th May,” Bring a Friend to Bowls Day” this is open to ladies who are interested or think they could be interested in the sport of lawn bowls. Cost is $10.00 this includes morning tea, 12 ends of bowls and lunch. Bowls are available for use. Funds raised from this event will be donated to the Cancer Council.

Tuesday 14th May District Singles Competition commences, 4 of our members are competing in this event this year.
