The winners with the lowest score were Pauline Perry, Christine Fossey, Lily Smith and Dale Winter. Thursday 4 May: The sky was heavy with rain clouds but fortunately we managed to play some bowls, at times playing in some light drizzle. The format was a game of Triples and two games of Doubles. The team of Francis Betar and Maynie Roberts were defeated by Bette Saillard and Loretta Baker 15 v 21. A good fight back from Francis and Maynie who were losing 9 shots to nil at the fourth end. Lynda Richards and Lynne Green were having a tough contest playing against the team of Kerry Faber and Carol Hayden. The score here was either both teams having equal points or either team taking the lead by one or two shots. At the 12th end, Lynne’s team had a 1 shot lead but the “tides turned” and unfortunately Carol and Kerry were unable to add to their tally. The final score was 23 v 10. The Triples game on Rink 2 saw Dorothy Dallas, Sheril Johnson and Deyonne Page with a lead of 16 shots against Dianne Kiss, Jean Glover and Nola Jackson on the 12th end. The score was 18 v 2. On the next 6 ends Nola’s team managed to score 10 shots the final score a 18 v 12 in favour of Deyonne’s side. A good morning of bowls. The winners for the day with shots plus ends were Lynda Richards and Lynne Green.
