TUESDAY 4 October: Social bowls played 2 games of Fours 18 ends and a game of 3 bowls Triples 18 ends.

Irene Roberts, Deyonne Page, Robyn Webster and Judy McGavock had a 7 shot lead by the 9th end, 11 v 4, bowling against Jan Coomer, Judi Polak, Dawn Jones and Pat Baker.

By the 13th end the score was 11 all, now anyone’s game.

By the last end Judy’s team were ahead by 1 shot 14 v 13, but Pat’s ladies rose to the occasion and gained 2 points winning 15 v 14.

Lyn Nightingale (swinger lead), Dawn May, Bette Saillard and Sandra Leisemann were “neck to neck” all the way vs Lyn, Sheril Johnson, Ingrid Luck and Dot Dallas this contest ended in a 13 all draw.

A big win for Sheila Rattray, Wendy Jones and Karen McPhie 21 vs Lynda Richards, Jeanette Emmett and Dale Winter 11.

The winners on the day winning with the highest score were Sheila, Wendy and Karen.

Judy McGavock won the raffle, thanks to The Garden Eatery for donating the raffle prize.

Thursday 6 October: A good turn up of bowlers today format for play 2 games of Pairs and 3 Games of “turn around Triples”, 12 ends.

Dee Douglas (visitor) and Dot Dallas took an early lead but by the 7th end Sheila Rattray and Jean Glover took control ultimately winning by 3 shots 12 v 9.

Wilma Drake and Ingrid Luck held a good lead all the way but were lucky to hold on to it, just winning by 2 shots 10 v 8 against Sheryl Johnson and Lyn Nightingale.

On the 6th end Judi Polak, Wendy Brand and Lynda Richards were losing, 9 v 0 v Francis Betar, Bev Rhodes and Sandra Leisemann thankfully they got they act together finally going down by just 2 shots, 12 v 10.

Bev Dunn, Jan Coomer and Robyn Webster 16 had a close match against Carol Hayden, Lynne Green and Karen McPhie 13.

Helen O’Harae, Dorothy Thompson and Pat Baker proved to be too strong an opposition for Liv Everingham, Deyonne Page and Dale Winter.

Pat’s team had a massive win 16 v 4.

Congratulations to Jeanette Emmett and Stu Dorahy on their win in TGMBC Mixed Pairs Competition also to Runners Up Jean Glover and Ross Barry, it was a hard fought Final.

Coming events: No bowls Tuesday 2 November due to Melbourne Cup Day.

Club Championship Major Pairs will commence on Thursday 4 November.
