The winner, first bowler to gain 150 points. The finalists Jean Glover and Francis Betar. This competition went to 30 ends, 120 bowls delivered by each competitor just over 3 hours of bowling. Jean held the lead from the start, 18 shots ahead on the 8th end. Jean remained in control of the game, until the 23rd and 24th end, Francis gained 17 shots, score 120 all. On the 26th end Francis 128 v Jean 132, but Jean proved to be too strong over the next 4 ends. Result, Jean winning “with a perfect 10”, 159 v 141. Great bowling by both competitors. Social bowls played as well format for play 4 games of Triples. Dot Dallas, Deyonne Page and Kayelene Pearson had a narrow victory against Sheril Johnson, Sandra Leisemann and Lynne Green 20 v 19. Jan Coomer played “swinger lead” and had a win with Wendy Brand and Pat Baker v Jo Younghusband and Loretta Baker 27 v 13. A good win for Ingrid Luck, Dorothy Thompson and Elizabeth Kelly 21 v Bev Rhodes, Jill McBride and Karen Green 11. Lily Smith, Lorraine Murphy and Dale Winter defeated Bev Stephens, Lynda Richards and Maynie Roberts 21 v 9. Winners on the day with the highest margin were Jan, Wendy and Pat. Dot Dallas was the lucky raffle winner of the voucher to the Myall Bistro and Café. Thursday 15th November: The annual RSL LifeCare Grange Trophy Day was held. This event has continued for over 10 years thanks to the generosity of the RSL Life Care Grange. Ten teams competing (randomly drawn), format for play 2 bowls Triples, 2 games to be bowled each 12 ends. Despite the competition being fierce, all bowlers enjoy this Trophy Day. The winners with 2 wins 37 shots plus 25 were Robyn Beaumont, Deyonne Page and Kayelene Pearson. The runners up also with 2 wins 28 shots plus 10 were Judi Polak, Jill McBride and Pat Baker. Following play Club President Robyn Webster presented the prizes and all members enjoyed a scrumptious lunch, catered for by the Myall Bistro and Café. A big thank you to our social committee for your efforts in making these days such a success.
