Club President Robyn Webster presented awards to the winning women bowlers and also to the runners up of the Fours, Triples, Pairs, Minor Singles, Major Singles and the Open Consistency Competitions. Vicki Rankin and Maynie Roberts were awarded for qualifying for the Annis Young Consistency Competition. Many attended the event to congratulate the winners and enjoy a fine feast, great company, good music and a chance to brush up on the dance steps. Thanks to all those “behind the scenes” people that work hard to make these events a success. Tuesday 6 December Social bowls as usual. Prior to play two spiders were contested. The winners were Kayelene Pearson and Lynne Green. Play consisted of two games of Triples and a game of Fours. The winners of the day with a win plus ends were Robyn Beaumont, Sheril Johnson, Sandra Leisemann and Maynie Roberts. Thursday 8 December Break Up Day/Christmas Party for the lady bowlers. A good turn up of bowlers to enjoy this fun day, 12 ends of bowling, format turn around triples followed by lunch. Dress code was strictly Christmas attire. Rules of play: have fun, no measuring and no losers. Deyonne Page won the Spider, she calculated that it has been 10 years since she has won a Spider. After much frivolity on the green we all retired to the club house to enjoy the scrumptious lunch prepared by the Social Committee. It was great to catch up with those members who we don’t see “on the green” these days. I know some of you will be back bowling next year. Special thanks to Wendy Jones, Francis Betar and Sheril Johnson for ensuring we are “well fed”, Rusty Sargeant for the most delicious Christmas Pudding and Custard ever, the Match Committee, the Executive Committee and to everyone who helped out on the day, it was a great party. No bowls now till 3 January, 2017. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. On the Green Enjoying Lunch: Carolyn Bywater, Dorothy Thompson, Olive McKeown, Sandra Leisemann, Pam Gilchrist and Loretta Baker
