This secured their 3rd place position in the competition. The Grade 3 Team had a bye. The final Pennant games were played on Thursday 27 April at Tea Gardens Country Club Motel. Grade 2 defeating the team that finished 2nd in their division, Soldiers Point Yellow. The final results were Grade 2 team finishing on 39 points coming 3rd, Soldiers Point Yellow second place with 42 points and New Lambton winners in this division with 44 1/2 points. Well done ladies, not many points difference between 1st and 3rd. Our grade 3 team also had a win against Lowlands on Thursday. Our bowlers came 5th in their division with 25 points. The winners, Nelson Bay, scored 41 1/2 points overall, 2nd place Cardiff with 37 and third with 31 1/2 points was Soldier Point. Congratulations to all our Pennant bowlers, you have done our club proud. Following play all the Pennant teams and the social bowlers enjoyed lunch at the club’s restaurant The Queens Kitchen. Thank you to all the Umpires who officiated at these games, Francis Betar and her helpers for preparing morning teas, Carol Hayden and Margaret Smith for “holding down the fort” for social bowls and Jill McBride for helping out in many ways. Plus all those who have helped out in whatever way this Pennant Season. Tuesday 25 April: ANZAC Day, no bowls played. Club members participated in the march down Marine Parade to Anzac Park. Following the commemorative service Club President Robyn Webster and Club Secretary Karen McPhie placed a wreath on the memorial on behalf of Tea Gardens Bowling Club and presented a book donation to Tea Gardens Public School Library. Thursday 27 April: Social bowls played, a game of Fours. Winners were Jan Kuzmic, Francis Betar, Dorothy Thompson and Pat Baker. It is yet to be announced as to the overall winners for the home competition. Good bowling to Robyn Beaumont and Kayelene Pearson who are competing in the Indoor Singles Competition 30 April. Upcoming events are RSL pairs on 5 May and State Carnival commencing 23 May and as always, social bowls every Tuesday and Thursday. Sunday Mixed Bowls, every Sunday at Tea Gardens Country Club, names down by 9.30am for play to commence at 10.00am. Visitors and new bowlers more than welcome.
