The format for social bowls was three games of Triples and the winners with the highest score were Jean Glover, Christine Fossey and Carol Hayden. It was good to see Olive McKeown and Julie Kennedy back on the green. Birthday greetings to Sandra Leisemann and belated happy birthday to Pat Baker. No bowls played on 30 March due to rain. The results for Grade 2 are as follows: Round 1: Tea Gardens 37, 1pt v Soldiers Point Blue 47, 4pts. Round 2: Fingal Bay 38, 1pt v Tea Gardens 45, 4pts (5). Round 3: Tea Gardens 38 1pt (6) v Alder Park 42, 4pts (5). Round 4: New Lambton 40, 5pts (16) v Tea Gardens 31, 0 (6) Round 5: bye. Results for Grade 3 Round 1: Tea Gardens 34, 1pt v Edgeworth 40, 4pts. Round 2: Nelson Bay Red 46, 5pts (9) v Tea Gardens 29, 0 (1). Round 3: Soldiers Point 29, 0 (5) v Tea Gardens 41, 5pts (6). Round 4: Tea Gardens 36, 1pt (7) v Cardiff 41, 4pts (9). Round 5: cancelled due to rain. Tea Gardens were to have played Lambton Park Red. This game will be played at a later date. Pennant games will be played at Tea Gardens Bowling Club on 3, 11, 13, 18 and 27 April. Spectators more than welcome, play starts 9.30am with two trial ends. Social bowls will be played as usual Tuesday and Thursday, weather permitting. Remember ladies, there is prize money at the end of our “home competition”. Another date for the diary is Friday 7th April; this is the Anzac Commemoration Day. Enjoy a game of bowls, mixed teams dress code mufti and BBQ lunch.
