Thankfully, weather wise, it was not too hot to enjoy a game of bowls. Social games only, format triples. The winners with the lowest margin were Lynda Richards, Bev Stephens and Deyonne Page. It was great to see that Bev Stephens had not lost any of her bowling skills despite the fact that she hadn’t bowled for a number of weeks. All members were delighted to see her back in action. Birthday greetings for Francis Betar and Jan Kuzmic and welcome to our newest member Bev Dunn. Bev has joined as a sports member of the Women’s Bowling Club, allowing her to participate in all social games and waivers the fee for “roll ups”. Becoming a sports member is a good idea for new bowlers or those who do not want to participate in Club Championships or District Competition. The cost for this membership is $40 per annum. Unfortunately rain dampened our day of bowls on Thursday 5. We only managed to play seven ends when play was called off. A card was drawn at random to determine the winners who were Ingrid Luck, Karen Mcphie, Lily Smith and Lorraine Harvey. The Club Fours Championship commences on Tuesday 10 January. There are eight teams entered, winners move on to the next round which will be held on Thursday 12. Good luck to all players. Social bowls as usual for those not entered in the competition.
