Tea Gardens Women’s Bowling Club Sport Sport Results by News Of The Area - Modern Media - April 25, 2022 Winner of the Club Open Consistency Competition Maynie Roberts with Runner Up Lorraine Murphy. TUESDAY 19 April: The final of the Open Consistency Competition, Maynie Roberts v Lorraine Murphy. This was a great final to watch, 29 ends bowled, that is 116 bowls delivered by each competitor before a result was achieved. Maynie started strongly and continued to dominate this event, by the 6th she had a lead of 18 shots (39 v 21) and basically managed to stay in front by about 22 shots most of the game despite great bowling by Lorraine. On what was to be the last end Maynie sealed her victory by gaining 9 points, winning 158 v 132. Congratulations to both ladies on reaching the Final and a special “pat on the back” to Maynie as this is the 11th time she has won this Competition. Social bowls played a game of 3 bowls Pairs 12 ends and 3 bowls Triples 12 ends. The Pairs, Pam Gilchrist and Sheila Rattray v Loretta Baker and Lynda Richards ended in a 10 all draw. Irene Roberts, Kathy Jones (visitor) and Pat Baker took home the money defeating Maureen Campbell, Jeanette Emmett and Sandra Leisemann 16 v 8. Maureen Campbell won the raffle, thanks to The Garden Eatery for donating the prize. Thursday 21 April: Three games 3 bowls Triples 12 ends played. A win to Bev Dunn, Kathy Jones and Sandra Leisemann 11 v Sheila Rattray, Judi Polak and Karen McPhie 6. A great comeback by Pam Gilchrist, Sue Morris and Robyn Webster who were down by 7 shots on the 5th end against Deb Gardner, Bev Rhodes and Lynne Green, unfortunately they were the losers but just by 1 shot, the score 12 v 11. Dee Douglas, Lynda Richards and Dale Winter weren’t in the game until the 6th end when they finally won an end, scoring 1 point. Their rivals Francis Betar, Maureen Campbell and Pat Baker were on 12. Things did improve only slightly from this point Pat’s team winning 15 v 10. Coming events: Thursday 28 April Bring a Friend to Bowls Day combined with Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
