SPRING has sprung according to 28 Thursday Tea Gardens Walkers following last week’s walk along the Michael Rowe Track at the entrance to the National Park just north of Hawks Nest.

Many residents though would tend to disagree with this conclusion following the deluge that has hit our area over the last several weeks.

With the expected arrival of visitors to our towns for the “Walk on the Wildside” next week the Thursday Walkers decided to ensure the track was clear and so allow any many of the community access to a microclimate which produces a vast array of wildflowers every spring.

Armed with secateurs and gloves the group gently pruned the track to improve access along 2km of the track before diverting over the sand dunes to the beach.

Thursday Walkers have a credible record of having pleasant weather in which to conduct there outings.

If it is to be fine on only one day of the week it will be on Thursday as it was last Thursday morning.

Last week’s walk saw the return of some walkers who have not been able to join us for some time and the introduction of new walkers.

I am sure both old and new members realise the inclusive nature of all our members and we hope to see them again.

Our next schedule walk includes a ferry trip on “The Wally” to Lemon Tree Passage.

Just one way of providing stimulating experiences for our group.

We meet at 8:30 amin the library carpark each Thursday.
