IN September 2020, Palm Lake Resort Tea Gardens resident Peter Stenson raised $5500 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, cycling over 200km in about 14 days as part of the Tour De Kids. Funds raised by Peter and his co-riders went towards supporting sick Aussie kids. On Friday 12 March, Peter presented the award he received from the Starlight Kids Foundation for his efforts to Andy Docherty from the Palm Lake Resort, Tea Gardens Bar Committee. The award will be hung in the Promenade where residents meet regularly for social and sporting activity. Peter was keen to thank his fellow residents for all their support. “In September 2020 the kind residents of Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest and in particular, residents from Palm Lake Resort generously donated a significant $5,500.00,” said Peter. “I was awarded a medal for their great efforts in addition to those kind residents that rode their bikes to show their support to me and ‘Riding the Distance for Sick Kids’. “This medal belongs to the people who made it all happen and with that in mind, it gives me great pleasure to give it to the residents of Palm Lake Resort together with a huge thankyou,” Peter said.
