But not just any old chop or snag thrown on the grill. Hotel owners Ben and Emily Hanson are christening their new fire pit in spectacular fashion. “Asada or Argentinian barbecue is a social gathering for family and friends to spend time together over the fire pit, sharing a laugh and enjoying delicious charcoal roasted food,” Emily told News Of The Area. Ben and new Chef Josh Burke are going to be up with the dawn this Saturday to start the feast. “There’s going to be slow roasted, lamb and goat,” Ben said. Also on the menu, Smoked Pork Spare Ribs, Pork and Pistachio Sausages, Smoked Eggs, Fried Jacket Potatoes, and lots more delicious vegetables and tortillas. Pile your plate and, with a drink in hand, chill out to the blues, rock, funk and soul sounds of Wards Xpress. The group is a crowd favourite at Bluesfest in Byron Bay, having made a dozen appearances. They’ve also hit Number One on the ‘Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Chart and stayed there for several months. And to keep the music flowing, soloist Bonny Rai will take over from 7.30pm. The Asada will be in full swing from Midday this Saturday, ‘Wards Xpress’ taking to the stage at 2pm.
