In that match between Richard Lee and Jeff Baker, 12 ends were completed with Richard holding a commanding lead 14-4 when play resumed today. Some great bowls were played on resumption with Jeff slowly closing the gap during the next 13 ends and after 27 ends were played Jeff managed to establish a 6 shot lead. Richard then put on a spurt of 9 shots to edge in front but at the 33rd it was “game –on” with both players tied on 27. Jeff had a one shot lead going into what was to be the last end when he unexpectedly dropped a 4 to see Richard claim the Club Championship title for the fourth time. The final score; Richard 31, Jeff 28. Congratulations to both players for a wonderful display of precision bowling. The Club Championship Triples was also decided today with the team of Col Amos, Ron Webster and Barry Drayton being declared the winners.
