Conditions were warm with a light breeze. All games were played on the synthetic green with the first game played in an East-West direction and the second game, North-South. The grass green has been taken out of play with major renovations planned for the New Year. The formula of 20 points for a win plus end meant that to get in the money, players had to win both games. Achieving just that was the team of David Garcia, Greg Smith, Bob Weir and Bill Whalan. They finished with +56. This team managed to win all but two ends in their first game and picked up another 20 points in winning their second. The triples combination of Ron Green, Neil Kibble and Leigh Hunt came in second on +55, edging out the Fours combination of Kevin Barbie, Bruce Everitt, Frank Zumbo and Henk Faber, who finished third on +52. 2 December Summer arrived with a vengeance today with the temperature hovering in the low 30s. It put a few intending players off but 12 diehard bowlers braved the heat to contest the Friday Open Jackpot Pairs. The winners with the highest margin were Jeff Baker and Bruce Everitt. Runners-up were Dale Winter and Col Saillard. The jackpot was not won and will total $200 next week. 3 December The Sunday Bowlers enjoyed a coach trip away to Dungog today for a friendly game with the Dungog players. Twenty-two Tea Gardens bowlers participated with 23 from Dungog. Dungog, true to their style, provided a great morning tea and a barbecue lunch. Prizes were randomly drawn for the best lead, second and skip. A wonderful day enjoyed by all! In other news The Club has nominated one Grade 4 side in the 2017 NDBA Mid-Week Pennant competition and one side in Grades 3, 5 and 6 in the Saturday Pennant competition. There were insufficient players nominating for Pennants this year to include a Grade 7 side. In what will be great preparation for the Pennant season, entries are being taken for the Club Fours Championship which will commence on 14 January 2017. Mid-week Pennants will commence on 22 February and Saturday Pennants, 4 March 2017. [Bowling] Tea Gardens Men’s Bowling Club By The JAFFA
