It was the formidable Pairs team of Ron Green and Mark Hair that won the money. They finished on +19. The Triples team of Daryl Martin, Col Amos and Keith Smith also had +19 but lost on a count-back. The Palm Lake combination of Brian Newbury, Neil Kibble and Leigh Hunt came in third on +13. This will be the last game played on the grass green for some time as it will be taken out for a major upgrade by next. Wednesday where the format of play will be Nominated Fours. Good practice for the Pennant season commencing in February and March 2017! 25 November The annual Village People versus the President’s side was played today in wonderful bowling weather. A north-easterly breeze made playing tricky but a great opportunity for the 36 bowlers to practice their wide-side shots. The game format was three-bowl triples played over 18 ends. The President’s side won the day defeating the Village People 4 games to 2. It was nearly a 3-all draw with one Village People side narrowly going down by one shot on the last end. Overall bowls was the winner! Players enjoyed a barbecue after the event courtesy of Barry Goode and George Winter. In other news: There was no Sunday Bowls this week, due to the Annual General Meeting of the Country Club, but they are set to have a great time visiting the Dungog Bowling Club next Sunday, 4 December. There are only five teams entered for the Patron’s Pairs. More combinations are needed for this event scheduled for Saturday 3 December.. The Club Presentation Night will be held the following Monday night, 5 December, commencing at 6.00pm. There is a Versatility Day planned for 10 December. The format for this may change.
