Bowlers are now beginning to ask the question, when will it stop raining on Wednesdays?

Yet another wash-out today with no play possible.

Having only managed to play uninterrupted twice in the past six weeks, it is becoming a bit of a bore.

But you guessed it!

The forecast next week is again; rain on Wednesday.

14 July

Bastille Day was celebrated on the green today with the weather fine and sunny.

The Fabulous Friday Open Jackpot Pairs fielded a full green of players with 28 bowlers ready to storm the battlements.

Bill Moon and Stewart Sturrock fired the most volleys winning by a huge margin of 22 shots.

They did not take any prisoners!

Seven winning margins competed for the jackpot but unfortunately it did not go off.

Fabulous Friday Open Jackpot Pairs is growing in popularity.

Great to see!

15 July

The remaining semi-final of the Club Triples Championship was played today with the steady team of Doug Naylor, Geoffrey Muggleton and Leigh Hunt competing against the explosive style of Richard Lee, Paul Syron and Sean Mearrick.

Although they were by no means disgraced, the Leigh Hunt side succumbed to the relentless pressure of the defending Champions who ran out winners 28-8.

The Sean Mearrick side will play the remaining finalists Ross Barry, Ken Devlin and Keith Smith on Sunday.

It was great to host a visit from Toronto bowlers today with a nice mix of players from Tea Gardens.

Bowls was the winner today and it is hoped that the hospitality shown our guests will encourage them to visit us again.

16 July

Sunday Mixed Bowls enjoyed a wonderful sunny day with some of the Toronto players staying on for more hospitality

Altogether 28 bowlers participated.

The winners for the day were Hannah Richards and Karen McPhie with highest score and the Lucky Losers were Jean Glover and Bette Saillard.
The organisers wish to thank the cooks Ron Webster and Barry Goode.
It was nice to see Beverley Thrift back after her stint in hospital.

The much awaited final of the Club Championship Triples was played today with the defending Champions, Richard Lee, Paul Syron and Sean Mearrick competing against Ken Devlin, Ross Barry and Keith Smith for the crown.

The game was similar to the Saturday semi-final with the title-holders having far too much experience for their opponents.

Richard Lee, Paul Syron and Sean Mearrick added another title to their already impressive record running out winners 22-9.

Congratulations to Richard Lee, Paul Syron and Sean Mearrick, Club Triples Champions for 2017!

The assistance provided by Greg Pearson and Ron Green in officiating over the past two day is appreciated.

The Club Mixed Pairs competition has been announced and the nomination sheet has been posted.

This year the competition will be played over 18 ends and will be a 3-bowl format.

Competition commences on Saturday 19 August.
