But times change and the Lioness Club has now decided to amalgamate with the Lions Club to form a single, stronger club.

“The Lioness Club has always worked with the members of the Lions Club either at their fund-raising ventures or at our own activities,” President Linda Allen said.

Recently, 21 members of the Lioness Club held their last dinner meeting at the Tea Gardens Country Club.

“Two Charter Members, Lionesses Silvija Vermuyten and Ann Hill cut a cake in memory of all the projects that the Club has been involved in over the years,” Linda said.

“At least 24 Lioness members will now become Lions that will carry on with the many and varied projects that both Clubs are known for.”

“These members will be inducted into the Lions Club at their 50th Anniversary Dinner on Friday 4 May at Mumm’s Restaurant.”

“Our final donations to the local community this year include $1,000 to the PCYC and $2,000 to the Tea Gardens Primary School to assist with the Life Education Van visit nest year,” Linda said.

President Linda Allen added, “Thank you to everyone for their support throughout the years and be assured that the united Club will continue to provide the same level of service in the years to come that they have in the past.”
