
PLANNING is well underway for next year’s ‘Motorfest’, one of the biggest events on the Hawks Nest calendar.

The Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Motor Club recently held its Annual General Meeting taking stock after its best ever Motorfest Community Aid Event day back in March.
“The Club has being going from strength to strength with both an increase in Club runs and an increase in membership with nine new members,” Phil Hoare said.
Committee Members were also nominated and elected.
Juergen Seil remains President, Ranald Mackay, Vice President, Graham Kelly, Treasurer, while Ross Anderson takes over as Secretary.
Mr Seil paid special praise for Phil Hoare who stepped down as Secretary, although he remains the Motor Club’s publicity officer.
John Sharp was thanked for for his commitment to the Club as returning Officer for the Elections.
Following this year’s Motorfest the club was able to donated $9,000 to local community organisation such as the Surf Club, Clinic Bus and Rural Fire Brigade.
This year’s event attracted 355 entries, next year Graham Kelly is hoping to break the 400 mark.
Motorfest 2018 will be held at the Myall Sports Oval Hawks Nest on Saturday 10 March.
