WITH her family by her side providing support, Tanilba Bay resident Mrs Emilie Hardes, took out the national title of Mrs Galaxy Australia 2017 in Queensland on 2 April.

The week-long event involved an interview portion, photos shoots, swimwear judging, fashion wear parade, evening parade, rehearsals and Eco party.
Emilie shared her excitement with News Of The Area saying, “I had the best week at the competition with my family all there for support, including my two little girls.”
“I’ve been trying to describe the week to everybody and I say to them, as a mum you really lose yourself in the role, so this pageant journey has really brought me out my shell.”
“I seriously had the best time, it was so much fun, even more than I could
possibly have imagined,” Mrs Hardes said.
Emilie’s husband was especially proud her, and was reportedly ecstatic to hear she had won.
“He’s so proud of me for having the guts to getting into swimmers after having two kids and being judged and all,” Mrs Hardes said.
The couple’s girls are aged nine months and three years respectively.
Mrs Hardes was also joined by other Port Stephens residents in the competition.
Mrs Shakaia Tickle, a resident of Salamander Bay, won a wildcard entry into the Miss Galaxy final, and Emilie’s sister Miss Gabbi Guihot also took part in the Miss Teen Galaxy section as a finalist.
In her new role as Mrs Galaxy Australia 2017, Mrs Hardes will now attend the international competition to be held in Florida in June.
Emilie will again be joined by her cheer squad family.
Between now and then, Emilie has big plans for fundraisers, saying “I’m hoping to run a fundraiser in late May or early June.”
“I will be seeking auction items for a charity auction at this event.”
“If any members of the public are willing to donate please contact me via my Facebook page,” she said.
