Green thumbs are invited to take part in a seed swapping day at Tahlee this month.

Seed Savers Network member, Shane Martin, said the concept behind the group is about gardeners coming together a few times a year to swap seeds, ideas and other planting materials.

“It’s about getting a group of people together and swapping seeds suited to this climate,” he said.

“It’s about working together, saving seeds and not having to buy hybrid seeds.”

The meeting will take place on Saturday, February 21 from 2pm to 4pm at Tahlee Road, Tahlee and afternoon tea will be provided.

Everyone is welcome to join and entry is simply a gold coin donation. Bring your seeds to swap.

On top of the seed exchange there will also be a presentation given on how to grow Shitake mushrooms.
